web
a spiderweb of pathswhich close in upon you
until the you are caught
on a crystalline strand
do you know that time is a spider
even now as you lie
helpless and imperiled
that it rears upward?
and its glistening fangs
penetrate your flesh
like a lovers caress
deadly and gentle
and your death throes
vibrate the strand
as you did
when you were alive
but they grow faint
and nothing staves off
the eternity that stills
even the largest of struggles
