THE CROW

The crow gets a bad press

The crow is the smartest

Cleverest bird of all

Perches on a branch

While farmer plants the seeds

Watches counts them one bye one

When the farmers finishes and leaves

Down the crafty and numerate crow fly's down

One two three till the crow has them all

Now the farmers know they must change the plan

So the crow only finds as many as the farmer can spare

It wont be long before the crow works out the farmers plan

Very clever yourself Ken. Living where I do crows are something one sees every day and become so familiar that one really doesn't see them or pay them any mind, until one plants a field or garden. No other bird has become so perfectly adapted to its/our surroundings. And I have seen a crow sitting on a scarecrow, laughing I think at someone's ridiculous effort to scare it. Nothing scares a crow, except perhaps an eagle.

Dearest Ken,

I loved this, you maybe likdesic, but you can certainly write great prose. I love your stuff. This was fun and true, Crows are smart and learn quickly.
