LIFE UPON THIS WORLD WE CALL EARTH OUR HOME

Is but an experiment , experiments over millions of years

Evolution , is work in progress it must be said

Many forms of life has been tried , given a good go

From life in the seas , so tiny , kind of difficult to call them life

At all

Monsters of the deep and of the shallows lived and died in turn

On land strange plants grew , trees and and all kinds of flora

Were the queens and Kings of the earth

Evaluation , decided to start again and again yet again

Life that was all but wipe out again and again and yet again

How long life such as it is , us included

Are but one more experiment

We and all life , well not all , some some hour will be wiped out

The evolution will start again , only with out us to bugger things up!

I think it was Audubon who said that it is not our right to inherit this Earth, we only borrow it from our children. How differently we would treat it if we all believed that. Progress would no longer be measured by the ecosystems and species we destroy.

On many levels I like the idea that we "are but one more experiment" . . . one I'm not so certain has been entirely successful, though our arrogance argues otherwise.

We are here to live and perhaps procreate and anything else is but a moments gift. I cannot fret of the future for it will never be mine to live. I pass it on to my childrens keeping as they will pass it on to theirs. Like my forebears ceded this world to me I can only hope to do the same. Evolution is the work of nature, My concern of the moment is that I protect it enough to be able to pass on this earth to the next generation.
