WHEN AWAKEN (WITH THANKS TO NATHALIA)

When awaken from the nights slumbers

More tired than when when lade down

The night before

The still of the day loud yet no one is yet about

The day

Even the birds not yet chirping

The silence is deafening

Only thoughts make any sound

No else to share that first cup of tea of the day

Turn on the radio , the first human voice to hear

All chirpy as a cock Robin

Water boils , tea bag in the cup

Pore the steaming water over the tea bag

A few seconds till the tea , draws

Now out side the birds chirping , singing

Sounds of traffic up and down the road

People walking on bye

Sounds of the day unleashed

Sun's light filling the house

The day has started

Soup in the Sand
I love the mood and description of this, very vivid- "only thoughts make any sound" Definately felt like I was there, encased in that moment. Wonderful write, such stillness, peace, quiet, contemplation- and then the day sunders the silence before the dawn, and life begins to hum awake yet again.
