E-BOOKS

Has an E-book an aroma , any kind of scent , smell of any kind , a type

Dos an E-book have stains , tears , smudges , finger marks , spills of tea , coffee ,

Wine , water , even milk

Has lines been underlined of an E-book , are there corners dogeared

Dos a E-book , show any signs of being loved?

Well said, Ken. On the other hand (though I don't own one), a cold e-book to read may be better than having nothing at all to read.

The impersonal E book, you have championed the good old book,I love them, but I would quite like a kindle also! I have just found a place in my local town that has taken over an empty shop and it's full of free second hand books to take home, I spent an age in it and came home with a great book about Florence Nightingale, (I'm an ex nurse), maybe I can do both:)

Not only do I agree I go a step farther - I only buy used books. It is always interesting and often instructive to see what resonated with another reader, page corners folded down, underlines, highlights, marginalia, attention and intention I might otherwise not have noticed.

I have a Kindle loaded up with lots of e-books, but I find myself always going back to the local public library to get paper books. Somehow reading on a screen removes that tactile, sensual experience. And yes, my 'real' books have a worn look--signs of aging, just like human beings. My e-books are eternally youthful, but never look read.
