Aren't There

There are walls in the room that really aren't there
They appear when you are all alone
Look again within and they are gone
Then wander into view, it isn't anywhere
Anything to see, anyone to be
Look beyond the now and here
Is only an impression of the senses
An impermeable membrane stretched from birth to dying
Improbable arc of emotion, thought, experience to conclusion
Yet, when all is said and done
There is this feeling that you were never here
Look again within it is gone
There are walls in the room that really aren't there...

I love a poem that requires that extra bit of thought & branches off into tributaries of meaning & corollary concepts. Something to mull on and extend well after its reading. Thanks for sharing.
