The Desert Trade
Cello music drifts down from ancient branches of Mesopotamia
Babylon Keyboards tingling keys
of kinetic leaves play intricately nuanced shaded compositions
winds comb the skies brushing out lights of long hair flies
touching brown skinned shoulders with exquisite shudders of bliss
stretching caravan souls out over untold desert miles to the secret palms
until press them on a living wall, stones with voices singing out
their sacred names that which may not be bought or sold
In the marketplaces and exotic bazaars of camel tradersÂ
where merchant princes come to purchase items rare and strange
figures dance amongst the shadows grown terribly costly and large
followed by servants bearing baskets bursting with the horrors of gold
fabled kingdoms of the desert conjure whirlwinds and djinn at will
Babylon Keyboards tingling keys
Cello music drifts down.
