Through a Window on a Sunday Morning

Daffodils bursting butter yellow
From a warming poltice
Of last years leaves

A cross cut lawn
In ancient tartan
Kelley and lincoln green

Forsythia fireworks
A sunburst
Igniting the split rail fence

Dove grey sky
With lady rain misting
A gossamer veil

My spade rests
Waiting patiently
Against the dormant locust

I am content to watch and sigh
This soft warm moment
Painted ethereally
For me alone

This sounds like a perfectly captured moment shaped into poetic words. Very cool :)

Isn't nature wonderful, you were offered a "moment" of nature's beauty and you accepted and shared it with us, thank you.

What would we do without spring? I crave it every season of the year. Lovingly expressed.

We ignore opportunities such as this at our spiritual peril . . . to both stay still and to enter into a place and a moment, saying not just what we see but what we become in it, because of it.

"I think that there is a spirit of place, a presence asking
to be expressed; and sometimes when we are lucky as
writers, and quiet in a way few of us want to be anymore,
a voice enters our own . . ."
- John Haines

A beautiful portrait which you have chosen to share with us. This gives us a portrait of yourself as well, and a hint of your land and life.
