Winter Lights The Roof
the tiny white pupils of their eyes glimmering in the moonless night like minute pools of otherworldly acid.
The star owls, the snow owls bring with them a late evening winter storm to the coniferous escarpment. Crystalline battalions swirl in ranks of random precision singsingsinging songs of crackling branches and freezing saps.
Everlorn's cabin with the red enamel wood stove chanting a mantra of well seasoned wood and pine fragrant smoke in the cosy little kitchen appears luminescent to any stray angels passing by the middle airs whom spread their wings ever so widely as though in so doing to make a ladder of light stretching clear from Earth to Heaven.
More stars fall changing into snow owls lighting about the gables and eaves of Everlorn cottage until the entire roof is a feathery shield of gleaming white. She sings, sips china cups of cyanide and blows smoke ring rainbows into the coming dawn. It is now the season of Winter in Pan Asea.

The Pan Asea Caper VI
Two stars come toppling over the very high pines which encircle Everlorn's sea bluff perched cabin like ancient gods from long before humankind was ever formed reflecting upon an altar of acceptable sacrifice. Reaching the soft gray and verdigris green roof gables assume the form of a couple of native Pan Asean snow owlsthe tiny white pupils of their eyes glimmering in the moonless night like minute pools of otherworldly acid.
