Civil rights in the U S A. Mandelas ends his long walk to freedom.

IN MY SIXTY YEARS I HAVE LIVED TO SEE

In my sixty years , lived to see a few things

LBJ , signing the civil rights bills , telling congress

To vote for civil rights or he'd what for! Sticking his Texan chin out

Daring the congress men and woman to try for a lucky punch

The bills all signed and delivered

Many think of JFK , but he died shot dead

It were JFK who set the ball a rolling , true enough

But JFK , died in Dalis

LBJ , picked up the ball of civil rights , and ran with it

As like a quarterback , he ran all the way , letting no NO one stand in his way!

No sirree bob

Then I saw Nelson Mandela walk free , lived to see him become president of a

FREE South Africa , democratically and all! One and ALL SOUTH AFRICANS!

The tearing down of the Berlin wall , united Germany , a complete country once more

Lived to see power sharing in Northan Ireland!

Catholics and Protestants , siting opposite each other talking

Then next to each other , working together!

Sharing power , a dreamers , dream , come true

So much to achieve yet in this world of ours

Hope , got to cling to hope , you just never know what the morrows have

in store for humanity , do you're!
