A work in progress. This a defenety , a story/poem. One of friendship.

I'VE GOT THIS MATE

I've got this mate down under

We're been mates many

A long year

Weve walk step by step

Side by side , stride for stride

When the other has stumbled

We'd catch the other before the ground came up

And hit the other in the face!

We shared our ups and down's , and well we've had a few of each

And yes some times many of them , the truth be known

We crack a few jokes , some even amusing , dear I say even funny!

We have something , almost unique , one of , or in our case two off!

A friendship ,above believe in each other , above trust and out else you can think

Na WE know the other so well , at all times no matter what comes

Our way , we stand four squarer against the odds

WE know , should our legs go , WE Know the other will carry us on

In the past I've been poorly , rather unwell , hospitalize

Me mate , found out , and tracked me down

He got on the blower , mobile , we talked how we talked

Bad jokes of course , told , normally told by me naturally of curse!

We'd call the emergency number of each others locality , should the need

Be there

All the way down the road we met up on , we will never falter

Cracking the bad jokes , wittering on and on , always with a grin

Me mate know I'd understand , as did I then as I do now ,

Nether are gay , happy to be sure , in each others company

Of that there is no doubt

One day out of the blue , me mate said: I LOVE YOU!

I instantly replied , I LOVE YOU!

A few years a go me mates old mum or as he calls her The Old Chook

Came from down under to on top , for a visit

The Old Chook with her sister and her hubby , came to meet me

Her brother in law , could not understand , how two blokes could

Be friends , yet never ever met in the flesh , so to say

Well he gave up thinking , and asked:'' Come you two are friends ''

'' An Aussy would understand and say '' '' why? '' , '' ''cos wear mate's ''

The Old Chook , listen , nodded , she understood no more need to say any more

There is nothing better than a good mate, you're lucky, and it's good to spell it out occasionally.
