With thanks to countryfog and her poem '' Song Of One Word ''. That got me to thinking. This poem of mine my thoughts.

HUNTING

Birds and lions hunt and kill to eat , to survive

As like other animals do

As man did , some still do to be fare

Then man , who had lost the need to hunt and gather

Found hunting for sport were fun , an enjoyment , a pleshure

So much so the dodo became extinct , as did the passenger pigeon

The Scottish wolf

Along with many species of animals

Hunting some hour just not very sporting

When I was a young lad my father bought a BB gun to scare away the pigeons that nested in our eaves and befouled the side of the house . . . one day I took the gun, pretending to hunt, and killed a robin. I've never forgiven myself for it or ever hunted again. I don't understand those who do any more than I suppose they understand me.

You have written the words I feel. Hunting for fun is just not right. It is not a sport and an animal is not a toy. Every living creature is important for the balance of this planet. Kill to eat if necessary is understandable. Well said, Ken!
