A work in progress , a thinking out loud kind of work.

A STANGE KIND OF MAN

In the country of my birth , I am a stranger

Those who meet some how never see me

I am invisible

They never see me as I am , never hear and listen to me

None as those who are blind , wont open there eyes

None as deaf , as those who will not hear and listen

Thus , it has been ever sadly so

Many , they will say: '' he's a strange bloke he is ''

Some even say when talking about me , talk about me as if I am not there:

'' He's speshal needs ''

Awh Ken, no! You always have your friends on the bay, you've been a great help to me recently! You know how much you've helped me, right? You are a great writer and a great friend and those who love you love you for who you are! Ignore what the rest think, they're not important.

You are special Ken and we all have needs. You have a voice and use it with aplomb. I think I can hear you thinking ;-)

You are different, Ken—you are wiser, and carry a kinder sensibility, than most—and that's a tough burden to carry. You carry it well.

I couldn't say it any better than Ashe has. One of the things I see now with my young grandchildren is that they accept everyone, and more important, themselves, not consciously celebrating their differences but simply accepting them . . . they fiercely believe they are special. Not only do we lose our innocence as we grow older, we lose too that easy acceptance of the things that make each of us unique. It takes courage and conviction to simply be who we are.

I am sure it is difficult to feel different from other men, although the differences I see and hear and assets compared to the majority that is out there. There is a sea of people walking the planet, much like zombies, who all look the same and think not at all, but I see you evolving over them all. It would be good to think that you and other thinkers will be part of a new renaissance. Your poem of isolation does reflect more on the rest of the blokes than on , that strange bloke!'
