Love In A Cold Room
My Love was kept in a cold room under sheets white as painMy laughter merry as the gloom, asleep I walked with borrowed name
Like someone living in a book that is looked through rather than read
Until you appeared with your own page to write so that I might read too,
So I read your words like musical notes defined an inspired beauty grown weary
Of an ever losing battle with Life's tempo, penned a score so hard to beat
I felt the sighing weight of words lightly thrown out but never away,
Seasons sinking up to their wagon wheels, circles of rain
My Love awoke from a cold room wrapped in sheets white as pain .
