Dear mother , thank you for the chocolate , such a treat

So looking forward to eating it

By the way I got shot , hit in my cheek , went right though

Out the other cheek

I only lost three teeth , so I will enjoy the chocolate very soon

Just the letter a mom would love to receive! Of course not. It's shocking and raw. So much reality of what war is like. Mothers send chocolate while their children suffer unimaginable wounds.
The contrast of the mother's gift and the soldier's reality is brilliant!
