Shadowy Stair*
There is a woman on a shadowy stairThe stars shine like leaves, the way she wears her hair
May be a light too fine to see, the Night is winding
Around your soul she wraps her lines like nets of blinding
Beauty made as though you glimpsed behind Life's veil
The timeless face no one knows, no one has seen
Into a place that now is, has ever been
The day she slipped away
Into the snow my world began to pale
Like a dream of romance, passion and despair
The stars shine like leaves, the way she wears her hair
There, is a woman on a shadowy stair...
