WAR IS JUST NOT PRETTY! (WW1 inspirde)

War is not pretty , beautiful , or romantic

War has no glamor

War is ugly and all that

Go to France and Belgium

look at all those hundred of thousands of white stones

Thousands have no names

The men , and many never got to reach the age of being called men

Twenty one was then age of majority

But had reached the age to die in war

Two hundred fifty thousand boys under age , estimated, died in THAT WAR

In those graves lay so many to many , to many

Who went naively off to THAT ABATWA

Now lay side by side , silent , yet there silence , sounds over the years

Some hear and listen , many do not

So the ranks of the war dead grow , still the majority takes little notice

The silent ranks will keep growing , till the majority , say

NO MORE NO MORE NO MORE WARS!

Soup in the Sand
Very powerful write here, indeed. Those last two lines are especially affecting. Thank you for this. Well-done.
