N i g h t My Only Love
N i g h t she is my only lovewhose constant ardors never fail
another day may play away
before such light attractions pale,
Might dark caresses comforting
consolations bring the dreamless dark
arms wrap like a silken noose around my heart
of hearts breathless and still something,
Frighteningly human hopes release
their hold upon that they wove
bright threads feeling loneliness appease
my thoughts of her only never cease
N i g h t she is my only love.
