Rain

Arrive it did, oh so magnificently,
Slowly but surreptitiously,
Catching us unawares tonight.
Oh what a delight !
Heightening the respite
from dog days, despite
Summer's oppressive reign,
Sweet summer rain.
She brings with her
Lightning and thunder,
Mighty escorts they be !
Over vast lands and sea.

My unsuspecting heart was stoked
For, it is HE that she evoked
Deep in my core,
In me I sense a tremor.
Rising.. as the rumbling thunder
Tearing my calmness asunder !
The sweet respite of his smile,
His arduous gaze upon me
His resolute will exalting our love,
So tranquil, yet so fierce,
So tempestuous, yet so serene.
This all enveloping amour fou,
Whence is it kindled ? Or why !
Enchanting me in its twirls,
Around love my mind whirls,
Pristine love pillared by
A fervent purpose ennobled by,
A man so undaunted.

The sweet rain that is he
in the arid desert that was me.
Forever to nurture
Forever to adore and to treasure
Forever to devote to and to cherish
Forever to transcend ephemeralness
Where two souls intertwine
In consonance with,
Love's divine design.
