A POET WRITES

As the poet is
As the poet is
Thinking at the
Time
When a reader
Dissects a poets
Poem
Metaphysical a work

Takes the poem a part
Dissect
Line by line word by word
Turns the poem inside out
Go all Oxbrege , or Ivy league

Till theres booger all left

The reader thinks them self's proper clever
That reader is not really reading that poem at all
'' Cos the that kind of reader has nowt to offer!

It's not just the academics, Ken. How many times have you received comments which indicate that the reader got something out of your poem which you never saw? It happens all of the time to me, and I can't say that it's a bad thing. It does leave me scratching my head.
