Too Bright To See
You are the light too bright for me to seeA tree that up to the roof of Heaven grows
(Who knows me inside out like no one else knows)
And though I love to dream a pantomime
Where through your leaves and branches climb
All the raining stars that shine in my eyes
A softly immense swelling sea of sighs
Every time I hear you breathe or read your mind
Secret slip behind the curtain blinds you wear each night
Like A book of ancient scripts concerned with second sight
To hold your slender hands like sacred scrolls of halcyon souls unveiled
Until I feel the voice of God speak, apparently,
You are a light too bright for me to see.
