A Mermaid M Y T H
With my feet sunken in cement suns in Hell below the waves of soundless mythHow shall I climb your inclining vines o f wonder wreathing snows?
When you are every note written on every page o f weathered lines
The loss of light like hidden emeralds gleaming inside of ghostly ocean waves
What limbs may I grow to swim beside your holy mermaid fins
Like silver pins for voodoo charms the way you hold the heavens in
A smile,
Escapes the dreary drapes of another day this manacle of clay descends
The rushing steps, with blank inept balance, an act?
This face repeats Time's hollow scripts, the candle gutters and drips anon
Oh precious dream where for art thou gone?
So once again a mock repentant farewell we know always now, never with
My feet sunken in cement suns in Hell below the waves of soundless m y t h . . .
