We Want
We always want just what we wantAnother dream, another smile for a while to light the day
Yet nothing ever seems to play out the way we may desire
A flickering wire of luminescent hope wavering fields of stars and pitch
Who knows how to catch the scratching itch before it all
crawls too far away?
Just watch what is not there and where we find the sea
Will be sweeping over all and falling under spells so deep
Only asleep you see, or don't
We always want just what we want . . .
