A Moment In The Light
Our love was but a moment in the lightJust before,
We fell there was a movement in the night
As though,
Something beyond the surface senses knew
Little more,
Than a slight breeze on your face smiling blew
I know,
Nothing ever happens without a reason and somehow yet
When I recall the innocently wicked wit in your voice so well
The way the Summer wound itself like dreams within your hair
Until like a gypsy runner in a forest spell on a mission like quest
Searching for some enchanted stone to live forever I only tripped and fell
Perhaps it was the way you dressed like a magic princess with a gift
For thrift store shoes and idiosyncratic personal views dearly held
I would have dwelt forever in the sunbeam blues of your holy eyes
Still good-byes were all we kissed, losing sigh t
Our love was but a moment in the light
