Thanks to maca , who work got me to thinking. This story-poem resulted.

MORNING - IT IS DAWN

Laying on sofa - dawn has broken
Rays of the sun false eye open
Awaken reluctantly too
Birds - chirping - singing
Gulls , crows - loudest
Cacophony of sounds
Children with mums passing by
On way to school passing my window
Men - women on way too work - nattering
Six to the dozen to one half dozen the other

Those who have jobs too pass past too
With that is who have work to go to
Or to the shops all - gossiping
Bin men shouting at a whisper
They recon
I reluctant - swing my legs off
The sofa on to the carpet in too slippers
Reach out for me backer
Make my first ciggy of my day
My day has began

A very nice description of how a day begins. You have absorbed and presented it very well.
