Orwell - wrote of down and outs
Of soup kitchens - hunger
The unempyde - men queuing up fore a days work
Of lifes with out hopes - grinding poverty

The rise of fascism in Europe - Mussolini - Hitler - Franco - Mosley


Despair

Now I cant help thinking - just what he'd
Write now of the times today
Food banks - poverty - grinding down more - poverty
Lifes bereft of hope - hidden underemployment
Zero con tracks - no - work guaranteed
Welfare - not a guarantee
Cutbacks - the poor - paying off the national debt

Orwell - would see nowt has changed - at all!

The world is a truly dreadful place for so many and a paradise for so few. There is no balance at all.

I'm reminded of a comment made by someone; I'll have to paraphrase:

The mark of a truly caring and advanced civilization is the anner in which they protect their most disadvantaged.

By that measurement, the worlds great civilizations in place presently are dismal failures.
