LIL AND THE CHURCH!

Years a go I know a woman her name was , Lil
An amazing woman
We used to talk deeply - of her experiences
Lil was eighty
Of what talked about such as why she never went to church
Oh she believed in her God - only the church did not
She was a regular attender was Lil
BUT , she could not except the churches practice of shaming , woman
Who had a baby with out being wed
Or were suspected to being sexually active
These woman were made to sit in the front of the congregation
To be stared at fore weeks - until the vicar said they could rejoin the worshipers
Lil , could take it no more - walked out never to return
Her God , nerver whent him self - preferring to be in the company of believers
Like Lil - and Lil , was such good company

That is a terrible thing for so called religious people to do. I thought religion was all about forgiveness and compassion. Not nonsense like that. I would have walked out with Lil. Thanks for sharing this story Ken :)
