MEN AND WOMAN WHO - RETURNED!

They sit with each other - talking
No longer chasing - being chased
Now closer than all of that
They sat - some with limbs missing
Some no faces - what once been faces
Now resembled roar - meat - looking tender
Others - minds shattered - broken
They had returned - from war - not in one piece
But in pieces - all the same

Thus - such huddled gropes been observed - over the years
Now woman being observed - among them

Such a touching observation of what is left when the things that people hoped for, and the futures they imagined for themselves, are destroyed. I love the line: "But in pieces - all the same."

Quite sad Ken. It reminds me of my mother taking me to meet ANZAC veterans.

War and it's experience can be the great equalizer. What they share is bigger than their differences. Nicely done.
