How does your poetry grow?

With fumbled hearts and foundered starts

And lost souls strung in a row.

And hapless deads

All typed up pretty with a bow

Metaphorically speaking

Rob Graber
Clever paraphrase, with an attractively dark ending. It reminds me that "Ring around the rosies" ending, "We all fall down," thought to be an echo of the Great Plague that killed something like a quarter of Europe's population in the mid-14th century.
