To My Mother (A Silent Plea)

2008-10-17 This one's ... just beautiful. I especially liked the last stanza.
You loose the feeling of the rain when you have too many sunny days, don't you?

2008-07-03 Really enjoyed your view of the political events.
Wasn't politics the only place where according to Dennis Miller 'my esteemed colleague' means 'this prick here' ...?

2008-06-30 Well ... fool-ists ... aren't those the guys who live to the fullest?
... and what do kommmun-ists then?
Loved it!

2008-04-06 This poem is like abstract painting. You can look at the painting many times from many angles and every time you can go on interpreting it in a new way but you will always end up dreaming ...
Well done!

Death in potato fields
|
|
2008-04-06 So ... death was there all the time, behind the curtain, but it never jumped out and never haunted you. What does that make it? A spy ... a hunter ... or a friend?
This poem is like a walk through foggy mountains. You can do that a few times in a row and every time you'll see new things but it's a bit dangerous every time.
I especially loved the third stanza with all those little pieces taken from ancient history where death was 'popular' but translated into our modern world, where sometimes it's not 'en vogue' to even talk about it.

2008-03-09 'If the world ran out of words' ...
What would that do to poets?
... perhaps make 'em cry.
Very beautiful poem!

2008-02-03 I think 'quiet' would be the one word answer.
Very interesting poem!

Sassy Asses

2007-12-24 Very skilled expression of a simple impression. Makes me think ... and that's something poetry is supposed to do, hopefully a lot more than just entertain. Thanks for the nice observation.

2007-06-09 Lovely poem, John.
I especially loved the 'feathers of ashes' and the expression 'with miles of heart'. Thank you for sharing it.

2007-05-27 Very nice compilation of thoughts about "words".
Most of us here use a lot of them. And here comes a nice meta analysis of our main tool. If the word "beautiful" wouldn't have already been there, I would have had to make it up ...

2007-05-26 I really like this one, John. I was impressed speechless, after reading it (which doesn't happen very often).
You're never stuck in life, even if it looks that way.
Every day is the first day of the rest of our life. It took me quite a while, too, to be able to believe that.
You're truly blessed with words.
