Memory

Was it a dream

the scintillating
sparkling
sunlight
A blueness
a calmness

A slow ecstatic sinking
fading
floating
hearing not hearing

a distant sound
laughing
almost drowned
by the silence

not fighting
The comforting arms
Of the waves

almost drowned

drowning

Anything I have to read twice is good. I read this three times. Well done.

The ocean is as captivating as it can be treacherous, but drowning is such a quiet feeling. Each of these lines drives the reader deeper and deeper into the dream. Love it.
