I had started a series called conversations between my sadly deceased husband Moncho and myself. I just tracked this one down from 10 years ago. It is time to be remembering the joy and fun he brought to life.
Never a dull moment in the Cadavieco household:
Moncho is doing the tiles on the new pantry shelf. A new experience for him, tiles. Suddenly he says: (Spanish accent coming)
Moncho: I go' a crundle. I never done tiles before een my life, and I go' a crundle. I think I put the stuff on the tiles and do 'em tha' way, If no', ee take a Sunday of Mondays an' the stuff go dry too quick."
Me: Yeah, right. What the heck is a crundle?
Moncho: you know, a - a - a- a CRUNDLE! A problem!
Me: A conundrum?
Moncho: Thassee! A crundle!
Marie: Wipes the tears of hysterical laughter from her eyes.
