The Cathedral

You can work on it forever.
Actually, the main idea is to keep working,
never bringing it to definite completion,
working out the details one by one,
like the cathedral of Milano,
worked on with a thousand sculptures
for a number of some centuries,
like also that of Barcelona by Gaudí,
the weird cathedral of the sacred family,
and that's the joy of it:
to have something to work on
with your love and arduous interest
of creativeness that never tires,
even if it is in only your world of your own,
like Milarepa filing on his hundred thousand songs
alone and isolated as a hermit in a cave;
but the result is there forever:
your love's work as heavenly as a cathedral
worked on with your love throughout your life
and showing universally like some kind of a demonstration
that your love was worth your sacrifice
for something greater than what all the world could offer.

I love this. It inspires me to try to remember to add positive features to my Cathedral even if my instincts tell me to make monuments of my regrets.

I like this a lot, all the references from Milan to Milarepa. Bravo!
