glow
down by the Spree
just you and me
we see an otter
fishing slyly
as heron
waits superior
on other bank
as the sky grows
red round setting sun
high above
a crescent moon
appears almost
to mock
she kisses me
as swallows sweep
the stream for
incautious flies
zigzagging above
water boatmens'
anarchic thread
I wonder this
as dusk besets
if love we have
will last full term
or will the pressures
of life itself
tear us apart
or will it be
a slow decay
as sun drops now
without at trace
'cept glow
the glow of love
that never fails
