Lou Reed (1943-2013)
too long acoming, friend
I remember you first
when playing pool
in a student dive
we stopped
stunned
hearing the Walk
for the first time
your poetry
on the wildside
shuck
those willing
to enter it
too much, too much to say
I last saw you
with Antony and Laurie
some gashes are just too deep
to cross alone
keep writing somewhere, my friend
there will still be many ears waiting
on unperfect days
