A bit lighthearted and silly. I have had a few life challenges recently and writing nonsense/silly stuff helps me cope.
To quote G K Chesterton, "Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese." I hereby rectify that omission.

Cheese!

Cheese! Cheese! More cheese! I love the stuff.
Strong cheddar - just can't get enough.
Breakfast, Dinner, Supper, Tea,
Any time of day for me
Is cheese time, just let me confess:
Without my cheese fix, I'm a mess.

Today I sat in contemplation,
When I saw an advert for 'Quick Cremation'.
That's fine by me - no burial plot,
Just a furnace turned up nice and hot.
But... rather than smelling like Sunday roast,
I'll prob'ly smell more like cheese on toast.

we've heard of this cheese affection, or is it an addiction? in particular, we are reminded of Wallace and Grommet. if you are not familiar with them, i will tell you that their craving for a bit of cheese took them to the moon (which is, of course, made of cheese, as we all know).

i will also say i (one trick pony) would not exist if it weren't for the stresses in jim's life. you might say i'm a mixed blessing, and an outlet for finding the lighter side of life.

Members of Coo & Co nod together. Yes indeedy, Marie, the writing of silly stuff is highly recommended for coping with all sorts of things. We like the rhythms and rhymes and the wit of this piece. We also like strong cheddar cheese :>)
