The Great Void
When you feel like dead
but have to stay alive
in spite of that you are no good
and feel like having wasted all your life
on vanity of vanities and nothing else,
you are exactly like a living dead,
and all you have is that great void
of emptiness, a hollow nothingness
that is much worse and more unbearable than darkness
since there is no hole in it, no light in nothingness,
no meaning and no challenge, nothing to resist
and fight and overcome, but only the nonentity of silence.
Still you have to stay alive in just a limbo of existence;
and there are ways of escape and means available
for getting out of what is worse than a black hole,
like the relief of living nature, the escape into illusions
of religion and philosophy, and above all the arts,
as you are still alive and capable of some creation –
when all else is gone, your creativity will still be there,
and your primary duty to your life is to go on applying it.
