written in December
It’s time for turning in for winter
in the winter laird for hibernation,
since you anyway won’t do much good
as only growing lazy in your lethargy and listlessness
of lacking any energy for love or work or being useful,
since the fact that you are getting old
in spite of your good health cannot be overlooked,
denied, ignored or seen as without consequence.
You have to face it and accept that your mortality
is actually a comfort and relief, as you can blame your age
for everything unpleasant in your life,
thus turning all your inconvenience to convenience,
cultivating your own snugness and complacency.
I would not recommend it though,
but rather recommend that you keep struggling on
and even forcing yourself to continued effort,
as there’s no idea in slowing down unnecessarily
for death to catch you up before you have turned in.
