Web

Bright Autumn morning...
My fingers touched
A shining web,
Spoiling its silken spirality.

Remarkably beautiful,
Strangely strong and
Slightly sticky
So that I shuddered.

Not in distaste
For the superb structure
But for fear
Of the s... architect.

I cherish the exactitude of presentation, the careful cadence, and the humour embedded in "architect"!

Charming poem, Marie. Your phraseology is brilliant.
Arachnophobia, why? Perhaps there was a time when tarantulas and other deadly versions were very prevalent and presented a real threat to humans so it is in our DNA? But then not everyone has this 'phobia' ?????
Blessings, Allen

Very nice. Nothing is more beautiful than a spider web with dew on it. I don't understand why spiders are so scary...but they are.

I love the gentle . . . architecture . . . of this sweet, shuddering poem!
