Thoughts on a snowy Saturday.

Emotions

We’re all quite emotional aren’t we? We go about our lives with emotions guiding us the way. We love, betray, resent and cherish the people that surround us. We move on within a year, thinking we’ve severed ties with people, only to look back at some with either menace or with fondness. There’s still a thread that bounds us all together. We can run as much as we can from people that were once close to us, but something just keeps us attached to them, whether we like it or not. I don’t necessarily mean romantic ties here but this could also mean familial ties. Shit happens and all we are left with is trauma and a broken heart. We’re left to pick up the pieces either by our selves or along with the people that decide to stay with you. And then we go on living as if the other person were dead. In most cases it is better that way. Reconciliation isn’t on the charts for many of us and we start blocking memories till they become these blurring images that sometimes play themselves in our mind like a poorly made home video. You start forgetting the life you once lived and become more present. The life you have now takes precedence over the past and you revel in it. I wonder at what point the threads that bound you to someone completely break. At what point do you not care at all? Or are we human to still care about those that have done us wrong? Or does that make us weak individuals?

We weren't the beings we are, if we didn't reason in this way. A good set of reflections!

This triggers memories, relationships, threads, there's no end to it.

Some good memories came to mind, forgotten. The bad ones are easy to remember. The good ones get lost, sometimes.

Thank you.
