The train has left

The train has left and you are left behind.
You have to face it: trains do not return.
If you are lucky, you can take another train,
but if you are not, there will never be another train.
It does not help to cry and moan, to whine, complain and feel remorse,
you have to face it: your momentum is forever lost,
and if you loved her, it will be the worse for you,
a pain that nevermore can be relieved,
like a post traumatic stress syndrome
with invalidity to cripple you for life,
and all you can do is to dream away from it.
If you are lucky, it will sometimes work,
but there can never be a remedy, no therapy, no comfort
nothing to alleviate a suffering that will go on
and hurt and torture you for life.

A poem possibly written as the result of nostalgia over a lost Love. I enjoyed the read: That's the awful part of it! How can you enjoy reading of someone else's suffering? When it is good free verse is when. Blessings, Allen

Having taken the wrong train out of Munich, I arrived too late at the airport, missed my flight, and had to pay $2,000 to get back home. I know exactly what you mean.
