Calling out your name?
Can you see my hand stretched out to you?
Reaching for you to take?
Or are you so muddled by confusion,
So blinded by fear,
That you cannot see,
That you cannot hear?
I wish that you would give me a chance.
I wish that you would let me in.
I only want to be
The voice that whispers in your ears,
That speaks to your fears,
That stills your storms,
That calms your heart,
That soothes your soul.
But you have shut me out,
Slapped me in the face.
My gesture of kindness
You did not embrace.
What more can I do
To get close to you?
What will it take
To put a smile on your face?
They say two hands are better than one.
Then why am I not welcome?
What is it that you fear?
What keeps you hiding?
It puts a barrier between us
That seems so hard to break.
Try as I might, nothing seems to work.
Perhaps I try too hard.
Perhaps what you really want
Is solitude.
A place far away
From the cares of this world.
ALon where you
Neither have to think nor worry,
Where you never have to say you're sorry,
Where you have no responsibility,
Where things never go wrong,
Where you never have to move forward
So there would never be a past.
A blissful dream,
Sweet and enduring,
Surreal.
It's easier to run away
Than to face reality.
It's so much easier
To let go and never look back.
Easier to pretend
And let it pass over.
If like a bird
You felt caged in,
Then sing freedom's song,
Fill the air with your din.
I'll watch you fly,
Fly away from me.
Space and time are yours....and mine.
In our hands and our thoughts
The future lies.
Our paths crossed for a moment.
What was cannot be forced,
But must flow of its own will.
So will you continue on your way?
Or will you take my hand,
Accept it some day?
