It was just something my partner said but it took a whole different meaning the more I thought of it.

Stop the clock...

The body tells me I'm thirty five
The mind says I'm still sixteen
In times gone past I'd be middle aged
In the present I'm in-between

I shake my head at the youth of today
But it was only yesterday, that was me
The "Grumblies" were those aged old men
The ones I've never wanted to be

And seventy years doesn't seem too far
Einstein's theory is not stuff of dreams
Here am I just half way there
And ageing a year per week it seems

But age is just a number its said
The who you are is the who you must be
Acting your age is no fun at all
but forever young will do it for me!

Nice poem.
But as much as you try, forever young is a mirage on the physical journey. :(
