This from a late night musing; not sure where it came from, but it reflects the fall in populations in developed countries.

The Wax and the Stamp

We became an infertile breed
With no children to succeed
The wax is flaccid with no form
So, no stamp can imprint upon.

Interesting metaphor about the problem. Wax on, wax off. :)

This short poem provokes considerable thought about the importance of continuity and legacy, as well, as the author says, the decline in population growth in the world. Reading it, my thoughts were drawn towards what 'marks' we are leaving behind in the spill of wax that is on the 'floor' of modern society. Nice one, Dougie.
