This poem was written at a place in Co. Mayo (Ireland), before oil discovery was out to sea and it was never again.
and wondrous
caress
of the westerly winds
set my senses alight
I could see your
wilful waving air
again as in the
time of Eridanus
the tender touch
of your warm breath
on my eager
waiting lips
made me shiver
with pleasure
and pain
skyward you came
'twixt grey gloom
and rain
enfoulding me
diventing me
from the pain within
the deep dark
will of loss
I turned around
Kilgalligan's strand
and set my feet
to heaven's
bright shore
where loss and
gain would no
more pain
me febral

Eridanus shore
the warmand wondrous
caress
of the westerly winds
set my senses alight
I could see your
wilful waving air
again as in the
time of Eridanus
the tender touch
of your warm breath
on my eager
waiting lips
made me shiver
with pleasure
and pain
skyward you came
'twixt grey gloom
and rain
enfoulding me
diventing me
from the pain within
the deep dark
will of loss
I turned around
Kilgalligan's strand
and set my feet
to heaven's
bright shore
where loss and
gain would no
more pain
me febral
