This poem is about something that happened to me earlier this year.
New experiences, one new friend
Her name was Erin, white and shy
So I spoke to her, what a nice guy
Feelings released, so happy inside
My emotions about to go for the ride
She was taken, jealosy ensued
I needed her badly, my actions quite rude
She felt inside the way I felt for her
Her to break away and "us" to occur
One problem, one I didn't see
Her dad didn't like me, he wouldn't agree
The perfect love so close and yet so far away
My heart now severed and filled with dismay
To make it worse, this spreading infection
She was forced to stop our connection
The one thing I wanted, a friendship to care about
Was now gone and the only thing left was doubt
Weeks went by, no talking, no hope in sight
What happened to the one who brought me such delight
This to be corrected, this sentence now lifted
My happiness back, the sadness now shifted
She was mine again, at least through friendship she was
This is the way life goes, at least for me it does

Racial Emotions
School had started, band once againNew experiences, one new friend
