This may remind you of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven". So I hope you like it.

My Cause

Outside my window lies the shore
Love me now and close the door
Hold me tight before the night
Let go of me nevermore

Loving you is not a chore
Time has passed and so has war
Moon up high and passing by
Let go of me nevermore

So many options for us to explore
Always remember and never abhor
The night so young; all birds have sung
Let go of me nevermore

One last time to settle the score
The sun rises and destroys our core
Remember your reason during this season
Let go of me nevermore

Wow. This is incredible! It's such an interesting rhyme and rhythm scheme; it really makes your voice powerful. I love it!

"Spoke the Raven, Nevermore" I see the what you are saying. Nice job in writing using repetition of Nevermore! It impresses and penetrates the soul of the poem into the readers mind. :) kathy
