Do you ever think of me?
I wonder, do you think of me through long dark winter nights,When the veiled moon casts pale lantern-light upon the shivering ground?
Does the memory of me linger when shy snowdrops bob their heads,
And sleepy creatures blink their eyes against the bright spring light?
Do I come back into your mind through hot and endless days,
When the glassy sea is gently lapping on the sloping shore?
When leaves like wedding guests' confetti tumble in the air,
And fruitful nature flaunts her wares, have you a thought for me?
The years roll by, the seasons change, the past is out of reach,
But in the silence of my heart, I think of you, and weep.
