Part 1. The Beginning

Was a calm winter Friday
As I strolled into the ballroom
Tables aligned around the room
DJ with music in hand
Waiters to serve food at will
What the night held was but a surprise
As I put on my mask for deep disguise
I welcomed the guest as they came in
Giving them beads and masks as well
Keeping look out for someone in my age range
While in disguise someone caught my eye
A beautiful lady dressed in velvet
Unknown to her was my sudden attraction
I controlled myself and my sporadic reaction


Part 2. The Dance

The night continued to bloom
The DJ played the tunes of many
Everyone shuffled on to the dance floor
So did she, my mystery mistress
As time crept by so gently
My means of action became apparent
As one upbeat song began to play
I then took to the dance floor
Asked her to dance then and there
Eye contact was kept the entire time
Looking into the eyes of an angel
As the music went off we separated
My heart had fallen from a sudden high


Part 3. Last Dance

The night was coming to a close
As the DJ set the mood with a song
Slow dance had been set in motion
It was my last chance to dance with an angel
I asked her if she would like to dance
We stepped out on to the dance floor
With my mask gone I could be seen
For the few minutes it was surreal
Dancing with this sacred angel
When all was said and done
We finished in a powerful embrace
That night was a magical one
One I will forever remember
