Repression
Tear away the curtains and the shadows,
let me finally discover what's behind it all,
let's go beyond the aberrations,
all that stands in our way of our love,
the wrong ideas, the doubts and broodings,
the entanglement of seven veils,
since all that matters is beyond it all,
beyond suspicion and possession,
beyond all obsessiveness and beyond doubt,
the naked truth of our relationship,
which no one can intrude upon
and which excludes all importuning.
Love can never be denied
but must the more arise and grow
and make itself more deeply felt
for being put down and repressed –
it can not be controlled;
for if it once is there,
you have to let it be
and just go down with it
in its engulfing generosity
more vast than any ocean.
